Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

    Provides direct supervision technically and developmentally for assigned employees. This includes financial and technical training and mentoring, and day to day support to achieve better than estimated productivity on assigned projects. Provides input to sales and operations regarding the technical and business considerations for Controls projects. This input could be associated with areas such as estimating, timing, special resource needs, or other aspects peculiar to specific projects. Forecast staffing needs and coordinates with other internal leadership to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet contractual commitments. Determines if customer expectations match contractual scope. Provides feedback on this as appropriate internally and externally. Supports the project booking process. Ensures that each assigned project has accurately forecasted costs for each area of the project and that these are tracked to achieve budget and forecast goals. Oversees material needs and timing to maximize cash flow and material efficiency Manages assigned Project Managers, Construction Superintendents, and Controls team along with outside contractors to deliver to the contract scope, the company cash flow goals and installation productivity on assigned projects. Completes the monthly WIP re-forecast and keeps necessary documentation to manage ongoing project or employee issues as they appear on the WIP’s over time. Ensures that assigned projects are invoiced correctly and is involved in collections activities to minimize collections aging. Recommends technical solutions to sales and operations. Identifies change order opportunities and coordinates with sales to document, pursue, and book them. Provide support to customers as needed and to solve operating issues that may provide value in addition to contracted scope. Provide leadership and input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, installation, start up, commissioning, and training for systems provided under the contracted scope. Communicate with external organizations as required such as consulting engineers, building owners, and other contractors to ensure accurate and timely engineering. Reviews all engineered submittals insuring adherence to scope, budget, and customer expectations as well as location standards. Works with direct reports to assist them in their development of personal goals. Reviews these goals with direct reports throughout the year and provides annual reviews as well as administration of salaries for these direct reports. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

    Position requires associate degree or equivalent in Construction Management/Mechanical engineering Experience in HVAC and 5+ years related PM experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience and familiarity with the concepts of design build, new construction, renovation/retrofit; performance contracting. Distech Tridium, Modbus programming experience, Niagara Ax, Java and Object-Oriented Programming experience, R2, HVAC Controls or Building Automation configuration and interface and advanced competency in computer networking and client/server environments a plus.
